Question about Paypal chargeback?
I recenltly sold an item on ebay for 500.00USD, and the buyer filed a claim, saying he never received the item. I fought the claim, and I won in the end.
About 2 weeks later, the buyer does a chargeback on the item, and he wins.
Under Paypal’s Chargeback FAQ, it states that:
How does PayPal help sellers fight unwarranted chargeback?
2. If you resolve a dispute through the Resolution Center, Paypal will protect you 100% against any future claim, chargeback, or bank reversal the buyer may file for that transaction.
If a seller amicably resolves a PayPal dispute or wins a claim, is the seller covered against chargebacks?
Yes, if you amicably resolve a dispute through the Resolution Center, Paypal will protect you 100% against any future claim, chargeback or bank reversal the buyer may file for that transaction.
So shouldn’t I be covered at this point? I won a claim prior to the chargeback. Paypal won’t do anything about it.
Does it also matter that it was a virtual good? Thanks you.
I do a lot of business on ebay and paypal and never done a chargeback. By the rules you stated you should be covered. If you won the claim then he isnt suppose to get his money back. Have you called paypals customer service on this matter because they should cover you. The phone number for paypal is on the web site and there people are general nice and helpful. I wish you all the luck on this matter. I’m sorry you have had a bad experience on paypal.
