US Credit Card Merchant Accont?

I need to process credit cards for customers of my small business.
I own a computer repair shop – service, sales, and support.
Most of my transactions are between -150.
I get between 3-15 CC transactions per month.

Here is what I would like to be able to do:
Have a phisical terminal that allows me to swipe a card in person for a low rate.
Be able to process online through the merchant website in case it is an on-site job or internet sale.
Maybe if they have an app for the iPhone that would be a bonus. Not necessary, but would like.
No setup, annual, rental, termination, cancelation, equipment, minimum, etc. fees. No BS.
I just want to pay a low monthly rate, and low transaction fee. PERIOD.

THANKS~!

Is this legal? Who is in the wrong here.. me or my creditors?

About 2 years ago I opened up a merchant account with a credit card processing company called Card Service International so I could charge credit cards for my ebay sales instead of using Paypal. Well the first week of sales totaled about ,200 or so. A few days after charging the cards I still saw no sign of the money in my bank account. Then a few days later I saw a DEBIT for ,200 on my account from CSI (card service international). I called them about they explained that since my accoutn was new a red flag was triggered in their system and they were going to have their fraud dept review my account and until the review was complete they would have to chargeback all my recent orders. I explained to the man on the phone SEVERAL TIMES that they have never DEPOSITED the money from the orders into my account int he first place so they didn’t need to DEBIT my account because they never gave me the money to begin with that I had earned from the sales. Apparenly he didn’t care….
I researched the company and found several other complaints similar to mine that and that many class action lawsuits had been filed against CSI b/c they had a history of fraud. I quickly blocked all access to my bank account by this company and filed a chargeback to get my 00 back.

So this morning (2 years later) I wake up and find that I have some new info on my credit report. CSI is claiming that I have debts owed to them amounting ,500! I cannot imagine that the amount of money I owe them could possibly even be anywhere NEAR this amount. My merchant fees per month were only a minimum processing fee and a statement fee. How could I POSSIBLY owe them over 16 grand?

Now is it just me, or can they legally do that? There is just NO way I could owe them that much money. I don’t know what to do. Should I consult an attorney?

Late night TV scams?

I view and I search. Search the internet that is after watching these get rich quick gurus. I guess the scam is – to offer you anything with precieved value. Get you to come up off your credit card, and the bilk you for more (or frequently) than the original agreed amount. My question is: whats the point? As a merchant that takes credit cards, if a customer even whispers "dispute" the transaction is frozen and I don’t have access to the money. If I don’t settle things, my account is debted and I am out! (plus fees for the chargeback) Point is, there is now no way to keep the "scam" cash for any true length of tiime. Whats the point!? After the chargebacks and eventual severence from the credit card processor it seems like a whole lot of nothing for just that? Am I missing anything here?

What is the benefit of using debt consolidation for credit card debt? ?

What is the benefit of using debt consolidation for credit card debt? I am trying to decide to either call the credit card companies myself and negotiate for a lower payoff/settlement amount, or to use a debt consolidation company? If I negotiate with the credit cards directly, will that be considered a charge off? I would want to settle myself if I can to avoid paying all the months of high interest. But if I use debt consolidation, then they will charge me a fee every month for so many years? What is their purpose? What would be the best route to go financially?
